Reading
We are getting close to the end of our second Clementine book. The students are really enjoying this series and have made many personal connections to the events in the book. We will continue our series by reading a third Clementine book when we are done with this one.
Writing
We will shortly be wrapping up our Personal Narratives and be moving onto our Poetry unit. This week we will be talking about paragraphs, and moving into revising and editing our pieces to prepare for our final drafts.
Spelling
List 10 is going home today. This week's words focus on consonant digraph sounds (ch, sh, th, and wh). While highlighting our words today, we made sure to discuss that in the word "sure" it sounds like there is an "sh" at the beginning, when really it's only an "s!"
Math
We are rolling right along with unit 3. Students are doing a wonderful job with weight, volume and mass in this unit and are being challenged with more story problems! This is great practice for them to use all types of equations and to put the correct label on their answers!
Science
Our Plant Adaptations test will be on WEDNESDAY this week. I know this date has changed a couple times and I apologize. We will be reviewing more tomorrow. We will move into a Social Studies unit following our Plant test!
A couple other notes:
A letter went home today explaining Santa's Secret Shop. This year our shopping will take place THIS Friday, December 5th right after lunch. Students may shop for NO MORE than SIX people. There is a shopping list outline provided on the back of the letter sent home today. Money and lists must be turned in on Thursday, December 4th. All of this is explained in the letter.
It's that time of year again!!
