Looking Ahead...

Important Dates:
  • January 15 - Twin Day
Reading:
We will begin our non-fiction unit this week. Students will learn all about non-fiction text features and how they help us learn about a certain topic. They will be encouraged to read non-fiction books in class as well as check one out in the library.

Writing:
We are also going the non-fiction route in writing as well. Students will be writing an informational piece about something they know a lot about.

We are continuing to roll along with grammar.
Spelling list 11 came home yesterday. This week we are focusing on compound words.

We are continuing Unit 3. We will spend another week or so on time, and then move onto graphs. Please continue to practice math facts with your child at home. I have now switched them all over to multiplication in XtraMath as well.

This week we begin a new social studies unit on Michigan History. This week we start off by learning who the Hopewells and Three Fires are.
