Reading:
We have started reading biographies during reading. I have been reading Who was Milton Hershey for our current read aloud. This week each student will choose someone they would like to read about as well. To wrap up the unit, the students will complete a little project and present about the person they read/learned about.

Writing:
We are in the beginning stages of writing a realistic fiction story. The students have chosen their characters and developed a plan, with a conflict that will take place. This week they will be writing their story. This is always a very fun unit. I love to see their creative sides come out!

Math:
We will be wrapping up Unit 4 this week. We have spent a lot of time practicing three digit addition and subtraction. Watch for a review sheet to come home this week. The test will be on Friday.

Science:
We are starting a new science unit on Earth Changes. Students will be learning about the slow changes to the Earth (weathering, erosion) and the fast changes (earthquakes, volcanos, tsunamis).
