Reading:
Our new focus for reading will be non-fiction. We are tying together reading, writing and science to learn all about animals. During reading, students will be reading non-fiction books about an animal of their choice, and taking specific notes about that animal. This information will then be used during writing.
Writing:
We are starting a new writing unit which will take us through the next 3-4 weeks. The students will all be taking their animal research and write an informational piece based on the information they have collected and learned while researching.
Math:
We are going to be doing math during two different times throughout the day. In the morning our focus will be fractions. In the afternoon our focus will be triple digit addition and subtraction.
Science:
Just before break the students started learning about animals. They learned all about the different types of habitats where animals live. This week we will be learning about animal adaptations, both physical and behavioral, that help an animal survive.
