Looking Ahead... March 23 - April 2

Important Dates:

• March 27 - Pizza with Parents
• March 30 - April 2 - Spirit Week (See Separate Blog Post)
• April 3 - 12 - Spring Break
• April 13 - School Resumes 
• May 19, 20, 22, 26, 28 - M-STEP Testing for 3rd Grade

Writing:

We are starting a new unit this week. Students will be writing an information piece. We are also tying in our informational reading unit, and our animals science unit into this as well. Each student will be researching and writing about an animal of interest. Students will learn good note taking skills. The note taking portion of this assignment will take us up to spring break. When we return, the students will begin writing about their animal. 

Spelling:

We are on week 21 spelling words. There will NOT be spelling next week, being a shorter week. Week 22 words will come home after spring break.

Math:

We are wrapping up our current unit this week. On Friday students will be assessed on their ability to answer two step word problems. We will continue practicing and reviewing this all week. 

Social Studies:

We continue learning about Michigan History. We will be wrapping up this unit before spring break. After spring break we will switch gears to science. We will be learning about Earth changes. Watch for a spring break "homework" assignment coming soon.
