Looking Ahead

Important Dates:

  • November 26-28 Thanksgiving Break
  • December 5 and 8 Santa's Secret Shop
  • December 9 Bauer Christmas Program
Reading
We are continuing our Series unit with the second book of the Clementine series. Students are also thinking about choosing a series to read independently.

Writing
We are continuing with our personal narratives. The snow days this week have put us back a little bit in timing. Soon we will be working on revising and editing our stories to celebrate our final pieces in a couple weeks!

Spelling
Our spelling list this week has gotten extended due to the snow days. We are just pushing our spelling test to next week. We did the word meaning today as a class and will complete the word study on Monday. Spelling test #9 will be on Tuesday.

Math
We are continuing with Unit 3. Today we talked about units of liquid volume and students did very well! They had great examples of what they've seen measured with cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc.

Science
The snow days have also pushed back our science unit just a bit. We will not have our plant adaptations test until AFTER break!

A Note from Art:

Art Hanging Volunteers Needed

Our students have been busy learning wonderful new techniques and studying new artists during art class. They are creating fabulous artwork and we are eager to have these projects displayed. We are hoping you might consider helping with this! Our goal is to have a volunteer signed up for every Friday throughout the rest of the school year to help remove existing artwork from the hallway, and hang the new projects. We're asking you to consider even ONE Friday this year, or even one per month! This would be a tremendous help and would allow our students to really take pride in their awesome art! We have an organized system that will make this job very easy for you. Thank you for considering and for supporting our art program! Please email lmoss@hpseagles.net if you are interested.
