Looking Ahead

Important Dates:

• January 16 - Hawaiian Day

Reading:

We are finishing up our last Clementine read aloud this week before starting our next unit.  

Writing:

This week we will begin a new genre of writing. The students will be writing essays. We will pre-assess this week as well as brainstorm possible ideas to write about.

Spelling:

We are on week 14 of spelling. A new list is coming home today.

Math:

We are finishing up Unit 3 this week. The last part of this unit is on graphing. We will also spend a few days reviewing everything that was taught in this unit while I was away. The test will be some time next week. Stay tuned for an exact date. 

Science:

Last week Mrs. Zwiers started a new science unit on Light. We will continue that this week by talking about shadows, reflecting, and refracting. We have some fun experiments to do with this unit.   

Other News:

*Today is my first day back from maternity leave. I have missed Ainsley a ton today, but it has felt great to be back. I missed my other 29 kiddos dearly! I'm sure I will quickly fall into this routine of what is now my new normal. :)
